Jul 23, 2005 · Stainless threads nicely on the lathe with carbide inserts. Even nicer with a lathe that has a reversing lead screw. I normaly just run coolant on them when single point threading. Too much of a cut will make it push away a lot. I usualy go .005 at the time, then do the last few passes at .001".
